Sight Words – School Library Journal

Cover: Sight Words

Each of these small-format titles introduces beginning readers to six to eight “sight words.” On each spread, one of the words (like, of, out, them, she, two, etc.) is highlighted in the frame of a small magnifying glass and used in a simple sentence. Opposite this page is a full-page, full-color photograph that illustrates the sentence. Each book concludes with a five- or six-line illustrated story that incorporates the featured words. The last two pages list additional sight words. . . . The texts are clear and the photos of multiethnic children are appealing. . . .
