Women in Sports – School Library Connection
The series’ authors write objectively about the struggle for women’s rights in sports history, without concealing facts, in an age-appropriate manner. Though recommended for a fifth grade reading level, I would not be shy to include this in a high school library as it provides basic information about several poignant moments. Recommended.
Women in Sports – School Library Journal, Series Made Simple
Filled with excellent research and fodder for reports, each title is highly readable and chock-full of facts about female athletes. Photos perfectly enhance the text, supporting but not distracting from the narrative of each chapter. A first purchase for tweens and teens.
