Edmond West, a brilliant MIT drop-out, is convinced that humans will never move beyond their cruelty. West ventures to create a humanoid robot, one to be exploited so that people no longer have to be. Edmond succeeds in making a more sophisticated robot, leading to something unexpected. Now, a growing population of this new species of "Bots" is threatening the concept of what it is to be human. Has Edmond saved the world or created a new class of victims?

Emergent Behavior (Bots) - VOYA

. . .the story is fast paced and well written. Edmond is a believable character. The reader does not have to be as brilliant as Edmond to understand the technology and robotic science that goes into creating Hart–it is well within the reader’s reach. There are enough unresolved issues and possibilities for different twists that readers will look forward to the next book. . . . This hi-low series could easily find a wider relationship than expected, and subsequent books will undoubtedly have waiting lists.

Bots - School Library Journal

An exciting series for avid fans of futuristic, artificial intelligence narratives.

Emergent Behavior (Bots) - Booklist

. . . well written and moves at a brisk pace. The science involved is comprehensible to readers who are not robotics geniuses, and Edmond is believably complex and well-meaning. Dangling loose ends and the true development capabilities of Edmond’s bots will lead engaged readers into the next book.
